Poetry Sites

Here's some information that I recently received that I would like to share with you:

Diamante Poems

http://www.readwritethink.org/materials/diamante/

Students can use Read Write Think’s Diamonte Poem Interactive Tool to create their own poems. A diamonte poem is a poem that is in the shape of a diamond and uses specific types of words on each line. Try making an antonym diamonte poem that shows the differences between opposite words. You can print your poem when you are finished.

Poetry Everywhere Collection

This site provides 10 videos, as well as essays and lessons, to help students explore the power of language and build reading and writing skills. The videos feature seminal voices of poetry, past and present, from Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson to Seamus Heaney, Marie Howe, and Yusef Komunyakaa.
