Writing for Tweens

From Gemini Ink:

WRITING FOR TWEENS
How do you write for kids caught beTWEEN childhood and full adolescence? These 9-to 13-years-olds are too old for picture books, but not yet ready for the mature content of young adult literature. So, what are their interests and how do they think? Our workshop will investigate the psychology and concerns of middle-school children and offer techniques for cultivating an authentic "tween" voice and an engaging plot. Be prepared to share a narrative sketch of a character you plan to write about.
