beginning at 7:00 with two of Texas' finest poets.
Featuring Alan Birkelbach, 2005 Poet Laureate of Texas.
And Dr. Jo LeCoeur, Professor of English at the University of the Incarnate Word.

Alan Birkelbach
Alan Birkelbach is the 2005 Poet Laureate of Texas. His work has appeared in journals and anthologies such as San Pedro River Review, Oak Ben Review, the Langdon Review, and the Concho River Review. He was nominated for a Wrangler award for his contributions to Southwest Letters, and his is a member of the Poetry Society of Texas, The National Federation of State Poetry Societies, and the Academy of American Poets.
He has five collections of poetry: Bone Song, Weighed in the Balances, No Boundaries, New and Selected Works (the first in the Texas Poet Laureate Series from TCU Press) and Translating the Prairie: Plano, Texas in Words and Pictures.

Jo LeCoeur
Jo LeCoeur is a poet and fiction writer. She teaches English and creative writing at the University of the Incarnate Word. Her previous books include Blues in a Red-eye Glass, Choc'lit Milk and Whiskey Voices, Blue Orleans and Medicine Woods. She has written extensively on southern writers and culture.
