Author guides audiences through immigrant world

San Antonio, Texas – The author of "Living in a Double World: A Practical Guided Tour Through the Immigration Experience" is passionate about helping audiences understand the true world of an immigrant and is using that fuel to show the world the positive side of this often misunderstood group.

“The book is written and published, now I’m taking it to the leaders of our communities through presentations that highlight the positive about immigrants and help understand we are key players and contributors to this society,” says author Ana Maria Quevedo. “Why else would we leave it all behind if it’s not for a chance at a better life and the wonderful opportunities this country has to offer?”

Presentations are now being booked and organizations can also benefit from a fund raiser idea the author is offering. “I can do a presentation for a company or organization and bring revenue by donating a portion of book sales proceeds,” she said.

“Immigration is nothing but giving ourselves a second chance in life. The entire process of immigrating makes us feel compelled to build a better self,” adds Quevedo, who emigrated from Peru in 1988, wrote this book’s first edition in 1997 and has spent the last 22 years speaking and writing about the immigrant experience.
