On & Off Fred
Dear Friends of Bihl Haus Arts,
Just a quick reminder that ON & OFF FRED is THIS weekend! Saturday, Feb. 19, 11 am-6 pm & Sunday, Feb. 20, noon-5 pm. PLUS, we've added some exciting NEW evening events this year:
SATURDAY EVENING, Feb. 19th, 6:30-10:30 pm: On & Off Fred in the Park, in the Liz Davies Greenspace in the 800 blk. Fredericksburg Road @ MIchigan Ave. Music by South Texas Jazz, art videos organized by T.J. Gonzalez, and food by local vendors: Garcia's Restaurant world-famous brisket tacos, Martinez Barbacoa and tamales, and Wheelie Gourmet. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
SUNDAY EVENING, Feb. 20th, 5:30-8:30 pm: Say Goodnight, Fred, a closing reception at Long Hall Gallery, 618 W. Craig Pl.
We've had some spectacular news coverage so far--tv, radio, newspapers, magazines (see a sampling below)--with more to come through the weekend . But the weekend wouldn't be the same without you! So, please pick up your advance copy of the catalog ($10/includes admission for 2 to all Fred events) at area businesses (go to onandofffred.org for full list), or at the Rodeo (find Oscar's Ironworks booth). And be sure to come to Bihl Haus Arts this Friday night for the ON & OFF FRED AUTOGRAPH PARTY and Opening Reception from 6-9 pm. Live music by Johnny P & the Wiseguys, hors d'ouevres, and libations!
There's more music to be had at Bihl Haus on Saturday afternoon with Possum Gizzards (blue grass) at noon and the Flying Bourbon Brothers (Americana with a Texas flair) at 2 pm. And finally, if you're up for a little exercise on Sunday, take the PASA (Public Art San Antonio) On & Off Fred Bike Tour, which starts at Bihl Haus at 2 pm.
