Awaken the Sleeping Poet--Poem Swap

Awaken the Sleeping Poet, Barnes & Noble, Northwoods

Poem Swap: (I was going to call it: Butcher your friends' poems, but I thought "Poem Swap" was a more gentile name for our event.)

Thursday September 27 at 7:00 p.m.

OK, here are the rules...
If at all possible, obtain some of your favorite poems from your favorite local poets. You know, the people you see at the venues and whose poetry makes you laugh, cry, or think. They're your friends and acquaintances, and the goal is to share their poetry trying not to butcher it while you read it. So it's a big poem swap.

This could be A LOT OF FUN!

So get busy, and start contacting your favorite local poets, friends, and acquaintances. It's first come, first serve. And don't let your feelings be hurt if nobody selects your poems. We've got open mic
afterwards, so read the best stuff you've got and make others wish they had borrowed your poems.

See you on Thursday, September 27 at 7:00;
Open mic after the poem swap is through.
