Poetry, Politics, and Peace:
A Conversation with Naomi Shihab Nye and Gerald Stern


Poets Naomi Shihab Nye and Gerald Stern will host a conversation on Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to noon at Trinity University’s Holt Center. The two award-winning artists will make brief introductory comments, then respond to each other’s questions and concerns, as well as those of the audience. They will cover such matters as the changing aesthetics of American poetry, Middle East politics and peace efforts, and gender and ethnic concerns.

The cost for this event is $50 and includes a copy of Gerald Stern’s book of essays, What I Can’t Bear Losing, published by Trinity University Press. Coffee and pastries will be served.
