Photographer ERIC LANE Explores “ART DRIVEN LIVES”
at GALLISTA GALLERY, 1913 S. Flores
opens 2nd Saturday, Sept. 11th, 6-9 pm

Dear Friends of Bihl Haus Arts,

Have you ever felt that artwork on exhibit in a gallery or museum sometimes has an anonymous quality? As if it becomes disassociated--disembodied, if you will-- from the artist? Well, we have the cure! Please join the Bihl Haus gang at GALLISTA GALLERY on 2nd Saturday, September 11th, 6-9 pm, for the opening reception of “Art Driven Lives” by photographer ERIC LANE.

In his intentionally casual portraits that reunite artists with their work, Eric explores and celebrates the “Art Driven Lives” of some of San Antonio’s most interesting contemporary artists--many will be at the opening--, including Rolando Briseño, Franco Mondini-Ruiz, Jane Madrigal, Russell Stephenson, Vanessa Hill, Albert Alvarez, David Zamora Casas, and Raul Castellanos.

Never been to Gallista before? Now's the perfect time to visit! Gallista is located just south of Downtown, at 1913 S. Flores. You'll enjoy music by DJ Roach (Tony Rocha), who spins Smooth Jazz, Conjunto, Motown, and Soul music. The evening will feature hors d’oeuvres by Citlalli Cafe and libations, of course. Also that evening: an informal open mic poetry reading at 7 pm organized by Tom E. On exhibit, too, are new photographs by emerging artist Louis Sanchez, and Gallista artist studios will also be open.

We hope to see you there!
Kellen

P.S. As always, please feel free to forward this email and to print and post the attached invitation in conspicuous places!

This official Fotoseptiembre exhibit is co-sponsored by Gallista Gallery and Bihl Haus Arts. Joe Lopez’s Gallista Gallery, located just south of downtown San Antonio at 1913 S. Flores, showcases Chicano art. New exhibits open monthly, and the gallery features an open house every Second Saturday. In addition to Joe Lopez's studio, the gallery is also home to several other San Antonio artists. For more information, contact Joe Lopez at: 210-212-8606 or www.gallista.com
