Meet the authors at Tres Rebecas, where every book purchased helps put new books into Bonham Academy's dual language library! Reading opens your world to information, exciting stories, and great adventures. Here's some you'll hear on Saturday!
Xavier Garza's book, Charro Claus and the Tejas Kid, is set on the border where Santa needs a helper and Charro Claus and theTejas Kid come to the rescue.
Lupe Ruiz-Flores will read from her newest book, The Battle of the Snowcones. Although it is set in summer, every reader will enjoy hearing how two young girls, try to outdo each other by selling the most "raspas", and can still be friends. It's a wonderful book with a message that is perfect for this holiday.
Diane Gonzales-Bertrand will be selecting several books to read from her almost two dozen books for children and teens. Her stories capture the San Antonio family lifestyle perfectly!
Roxanna Montes-Bazaldua, selected as outstanding teacher in San Antonio, always generates fun and excitement with her book Legend of the CascarĂ³n.
Juan Tejeda and Anisa Onofre present their Aztec Calender Coloring Book with twenty symbols of the Aztec Calendar with their names in Nahuatl, Spanish, and English.
We'll also have other holiday books on hand --The Legend of the Poinsettia, Too Many Tamales, Growing Up With Tamales, Mimi's Paranda, the Twelve Dog Days of Christmas, and Ya Llegan los Tres Reyes among others.
We have sold almost 200 copies of Comadres, Tamales, and the Meaning of Civilization,
but still have a few signed copies available. A vacumm-packed dozen of frozen tamales are also available. Reserve yours today!
